ROTA is a very simple app I wrote in Python / Panda3D.
It functions on the premise that memory works better in
3D than in 2D. Memory is also stimulated by urgency, as
when the characters and pin-yin rotate.

You can always find the latest version of ROTA at my si-

    FreeLunch.my/scripts/rota.html

Register at FreeLunch to remove the evaluation line but
do take your time to actually use the app. All featur-
es are enabled indefinitely.

Cycle through the word list hist_ROTA.txt with the scr-
oll wheel on your mouse. Hover characters to search. To
set preferences, edit prefs_ROTA.txt, save & click mid-
dle mouse button to relaunch. ROTA listens for Chinese 
characters on the clipboard and saves them in hist_ROTA.

You may want to try these in rota.py:

    font.setRenderMode(TextFont.RMSolid)
    font.setPageSize(512, 512)
    font.setPixelsPerUnit(64)
    font.setWindingOrder(0)
    loadPrcFileData('', 'load-display pandagl')

Absolute beginners will want to read up on Python / pip
Always install from a trusted official site. Then in a 
command prompt, do:

    pip install panda3D
    cd c:\users\YOUR_USERNAME\Downloads
    rota.py

Linux users will have to set as executable / run local:

    chmod +x rota.py
    ./rota.py

Install ceDict and sentyfont.com/marshmallow.htm B font.
Name ceDict as: cedict_1_0_ts_utf-8_mdbg.txt
