Thank you for downloading CHR, an outliner for writers working in long form. ============================================================================ CHR is written in Python. You will need to install Python3 to run it and install the module, tkscrolledframe via pip. To use CHR, you first need to create the skeleton of an outline. The format is like this: xxx ... xxx;;xxx ... xxx -and so on, similarly. See the example file for more guidance. Currently, you should name your outline file "outline.txt", in this same folder. From the menu button, you may select alternative outline files: chap2.txt etc. On the left of the Introduce marks, ";;" is a description, maybe an association between 2 elements or characters. You may enter the xxx in any convention you prefer as long as you use ";;" in between. If you add "xxx;;..." in the outline file, it will display in the GUI and may be edited randomly without searching in a text editor. To search, just type a list of keywords separted by whitespace into the input box, top of the window. Click on specific text to edit it. If you enter: xxx...xxx;;xxx...xxx -you will get more precise results. For phrases, use xxx_xxx... or xxx*xxx. To save changes when editing an entry, Press , then close the edit window to get back. Use PgUP, PgDown to cycle through past searches. Esc, to maximize-minimize. Horizontal scrolling is faster, maximized. That's it! Enjoy and keep writing. P.S. Try searching the experimental RBSEJ tagging system, eg. /rjs xxx...
